At UNCG, our Biology and Chemistry students are working on projects as part of the Medicinal Chemistry Collaborative discovering and developing effective therapeutics for cancer and infectious disease.
TIP: Stand out on your pre-med applications by joining faculty-led research labs and working toward your own research studies.
Get hands on with coursework that gives you real life applications of health interventions and patient care, including a greater understanding of the healthcare field itself, including topics related to ethics, equity, access, and patient education.
At UNCG, most students in our School of Health and Human Sciences are required to complete a practicum or internship in their field of study which gives them a chance to apply classroom lessons in a real world setting.
TIP: Get paid work experience in the medical field as a CMA or EMT while earning your bachelor’s degree. Medical schools value students who are skilled at working with patients in real life situations.
