To: UNCG Faculty and Staff
From: Debbie Storrs, Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor

I am pleased to announce Dr. Greg Bell has accepted the position as Dean of the UNCG Graduate School, effective immediately.

Dr. Bell is a tenured professor of mathematics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He brings a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and significant experience in graduate education. Since October 2021, Greg has served as Interim Dean of the Graduate School. Prior to that, he was Associate Dean for the Graduate School and Director of Graduate Studies for the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He has mentored and supervised both doctoral and master’s students, currently serves as Secretary of the NC Council of Graduate Schools and is a member of the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools Audit Committee. He has a long record of service to UNCG beyond these activities and is the Past President of the UNCG Chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the search committee, and to the chair of the committee, Professor DiAnne Borders, for their time and outstanding work. I also wish to thank the campus community for engaging in the search process that led to the selection of Dean Bell.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Greg Bell as he begins his role as Dean of the Graduate School.
