University Communications has created the first season of its “Follow Me” series with four episodes released on UNCG’s YouTube channel. The episodes offer unique perspectives on how the University and community around it make life fulfilling and vibrant for Spartans.

Advice to New Students: Get your parking pass early and drive to take care of errands “all in a quick little distance.”

Fun Fact: Ivan lives in Gray Hall, the same dorm that his mother and sister lived in.

Advice to New Students: Live on campus and you can walk everywhere – just keep an umbrella handy!

Fun Fact: Mahoganey reveals her secret spot for naps tucked away in the Nurses Instructional Building. 

Mahoganey’s Hands-on Learning: Discover the kitchen lab at Stone where nutrition students test recipes (and Mahoganey translates for live basil.) 

Advice for New Students: Use the tunnel to Gate City for easy access to the Kaplan Center for workouts. 

Convenient Restaurants for a Bite: Old Town Draught House & Insomnia Cookies

“I love living in Greensboro where I can start my morning in the city and be at the lake in the afternoon.”

Double Major: Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies & History with a concentration in Public History 

Fun Fact: Claudia runs the Open Closet in the Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies department. 

Claudia’s Dose of Vitamin D: Study in the sunshine by the Alumni House fountains or escape to Piney Lake to unplug from the city. 

Advice to New Students: Find a convenient job. Claudia bikes to M’Coul’s Public House to work lunch shifts and has a work-study job on campus.
