A Message from Chancellor Franklin D. Gilliam, Jr.

Richard Campbell, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications, has accepted a position as Chief Communications Officer with Auburn University. His last day at UNCG will be March 31. Kimberly Osborne, Associate Vice Chancellor, Integrated Marketing Communications, will serve as interim Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communications. We are thankful for her service and leadership.

Though Richard’s tenure with UNCG has been brief, he has been an asset, working to showcase our students, faculty, staff, and their extraordinary work on the local, state, and national stages. From the launch of a new content marketing strategy and the esports initiative to the Paths to Prosperity Campaign, Richard and his University Communications team have engaged in focused and effective efforts to help drive enrollment and retention, elevate brand awareness and value, and promote our shared place and fate with the community. Along the way, they have effectively shared UNCG’s unique stories and have increased positive media and social media coverage for our students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Richard has led a talented team through transition and challenging times, doing so with humor, energy, and enthusiasm. Please join me in congratulating Richard and wishing him well on this exciting new venture.
