Coleman Building
Room 201

The group will be introduced by Dr. Omar Ali, historian of the global African Diaspora and Dean of Lloyd International Honors College at UNCG, and Dr. Nodia Mena, Honors faculty member, dancer, and cultural ambassador of the Garifuna—the African and Indian descended peoples of the Caribbean and Central America.

Tambacum was founded in 2020 on the Afro-Pacific coast of Colombia in the city of Nuqui. The city is at the center of the Pacific coast region, rich in culture and in natural beauty, where the rainforest meets the Pacific Ocean.

The event is sponsored by Lloyd International Honors College and the African American and African Diaspora Studies Program.
