Robinson Family Visiting Jazz Artist Julieta Eugenio

A residency made possible by the Robinson Family Fund, established by Ward Robinson (’19 PBC Jazz, ’10 MPH) and Pamela Pittman, is bringing three jazz luminaries to UNCG’s School of Music this year for residencies with students and concerts which will be open to the public.
The first in this series is Saxophonist Julieta Eugenio. Eugenio is an Argentinian saxophonist based in New York. She studied at Queens College and now plays with preeminent jazz musicians. She has had the opportunity to record with such prestigious musicians as David Kikoski and Leon Parker. She won the International Women in Jazz Competition in 2017 as a member of the SIJ trio. In October 2021, Julieta performed at the Joyce Theater for a two-week residency with the Eyal Vilner Big Band. That December, Julieta performed at the Guggenheim Museum for the Rotunda Solstice Concert with the Eyal Vilner Big Band. She then recorded her debut album JUMP. In 2022, the Julieta Eugenio Trio won the 2022 DCJazzPrix, an International competition presented by DC Jazz Fest. Julieta has also toured with the SW!NG OUT show. Julieta has also been presenting her debut Album in New York with her trio at Dizzy’s, Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Stage, Smalls Jazz Club, Bushnell Park Jazz Festival in CT and has been presenting new music in Los Angeles at Sam First, Just Jazz Series, and ETA Highland Park.
