Trish Kemerly
Biography
Trish Kemerly, Ph.D., is a Lecturer and Undergraduate Curriculum Coordinator in the Department of Consumer, Apparel, and Retail Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG).
After receiving her doctorate from the CARS Department in 2012, she taught at the Art Institute in Charlotte, N.C., and Western Governors University before returning to UNCG to join the CARS faculty full time to focus on teaching. Dr. Kemerly’s primary interests focus on the cultural and social-psychological aspects of dress, and she teaches additional courses on brand management, social media marketing, the history of fashion, principles of design and technology, and the department’s Capstone course.
Dr. Kemerly’s teaching has been recognized by her students and peers, as she has received numerous awards and distinctions for teaching excellence during her tenure at UNCG. She serves as a reviewer for The Scholarly Teacher, a journal focused on furthering research-based approaches to enhancing student learning, and she has diligently represented the department on multiple college and university committees.

- MA in Liberal Studies, with concentration in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
- BA in Journalism; Minor: Spanish from Louisiana Tech University, Ruston, LA. from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
