Originally from Mexico, Norma has lived most of her life in the United States. Norma is an alumna of UNCG, and she has worked at the Programs Center for over 15 years. In her role as Senior International Advisor for students and scholars, she provides foreign students and scholars with guidance and support throughout their journey at UNCG and the United States. Norma’s dedication to the fields of student affairs and international education has also been established through her educational and personal interests. Those include studies in Higher Education Administration and Peace and Conflict studies. Norma holds a Master of Arts degree in Conflict and Peace Studies and a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems & Operations Management. She is passionate about topics related to visa compliance, international education, emotional intelligence, mindful awareness, global history, language acquisition and student holistic development.
