Derek leads the study abroad office for GEO and also serves as a Staff Senator.

Get to know us
Before joining the UNCG team in 2021, Derek was a one-person office managing Education Abroad for University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Before that he was a Regional Director for ISEP for nine years. He previously worked in China for five years, teaching at Beijing Language and Culture University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Anhui Normal University. He is passionate about empowering students to have a life-changing experience abroad. His hobbies include board games, theatre, and visiting national parks.
