Responsibilities
CASA advisors support student in the College of Arts and Sciences in their transition to UNC Greensboro. We empower students to make the most of their liberal arts education as they acquire skills needed to meet the challenges of a complex and changing world, as we teach students how to:
- Understand and navigate degree requirements and course offerings
- Take advantage of campus support services
- Adopt a professional and proactive approach to lifelong learning
We help students plan out their semesters, learn how to register, and complete graduation plans.

Get to Know Us
Caitlin has worked with CASA as a full-time advisor since 2010. She advises primarily Archaeology, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Classical Studies, and History majors, as well as pre-professional students with any CAS major. She teaches courses on medieval, early British, and disease history. Her primary administrative responsibilities include coordinating the College’s advising programming at SOAR and directing retention and persistence outreach for the College. She also serves on the College’s Curriculum and Teaching committee and the University Advising Council.
Caitlin won the 2019-202 CAS Advising Award in the Veteran Advisor category. “Caitlin Saraphis is a kind, detail oriented advisor who is well respected by her advisees. During her tenure as an academic advisor, she has acted as a mentor, teacher, and leader to both her students and her peers.”
When not advising, Caitlin enjoys playing video games, reading, and hanging out with her partner and their three cats.
