Direct Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing
We’re proud to announce our new Direct Admission initiative for students seeking to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC Greensboro’s renowned School of Nursing. If you’re a first-year UNCG student intending to pursue your BSN, now you can apply for direct admission to the program right away, instead of waiting for a competitive application process after completing your prerequisite courses.
What does Direct Admission mean for you?
- More certainty. Know up-front how your studies will progress, confident in the knowledge your space in our highly competitive nursing program is already secured.
- Save time. Securing your entry to the program in your first year means you can focus on completing most of the required prerequisite courses, then proceed directly into the nursing major studies in your sophomore year. No need to work through a competitive application, then wait for your results — you’re already admitted to the program.
- Save money. Direct Admission ensures you don’t need to spend any extra time or money on coursework to be admitted to the nursing program.
The First UNC System to offer direct admission
Be among the first to take advantage by ensuring the following:
- Apply as a first-year student in fall. You’ll only need to complete the standard UNCG application and supporting materials — no secondary application to the School of Nursing is necessary.
- Currently hold and maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA. The Direct Admission process is competitive, and the School of Nursing continues to seek the most academically qualified candidates.
- Apply ASAP! For your best chance at earning Direct Admission, apply by UNCG’s Early Action deadline of 11/1/24. If you meet the Early Action deadline, you’ll receive your Direct Admission decision by the end of January.
