The Student Experience
- The Department of Teacher Education and Higher Education (TEHE) brings together outstanding faculty mentors with scholars from all levels of educational experience to pursue one, common goal: to become leaders driven to make a difference in the lives of learners, who, in turn, are prepared to make their own positive difference in the world. Whether your professional goal is to be a leader in elementary schools, secondary schools, or higher education, we are here to provide the best possible preparation and support.
- Graduate students in the SOE benefit from hands-on learning that is woven throughout our programs and co-curricular opportunities. Students interested in research work alongside faculty members on cutting-edge studies and innovation projects, providing them with first-hand experience with discovering solutions to pressing social and educational issues.
Be sure to meet with your academic advisor each semester for more details pertaining to your program of study.
After Graduation
Graduates of the program go on to offer more advanced methodologies to their elementary students in mathematics. Others go on to become curriculum facilitators of a school or school system mathematics coaches.
The U.S. Department of Education requires that all higher education institutions advise students as to whether their curriculum provides them with the eligibility to apply for a professional license and/or certification in the state for which they plan to practice. As such, please review UNC Greensboro’s status by state for the initial teaching license. You should note whether the program either “meets”, “does not meet”, or if there “has not been a determination” of the program’s status in the state for which you plan to practice.
