Weatherspoon auditorium dedicated to the Benjamins

Margaret and Bill Benjamin visit the Weatherspoon Art Museum where the auditorium was named after them.

These longtime supporters of museums want to open them up to even more people. Margaret ’01 MA and Bill Benjamin’s gift will endow a faculty fellowship grant and support a discretionary fund will help make the Weatherspoon Art Museum more accessible to its patrons.

On October 1, UNC Greensboro will celebrate the former English professor who helped pave the way for the aspiring writers who pass through campus each year.


School of Nursing department chair pursues nature-based research

Dr. Amber Vermeesch joined the UNC Greensboro School of Nursing this fall as an associate professor and chair of the Department of Family and Community Nursing. Amber’s research focuses on nature-based interventions, improving individuals’ mental and physical health by spending time outdoors.


Tunstall Scholarship for adult students

Deborah Tunstall Tippett ’73, ’81 MS, ’91 PhD. made this gift to the UNC Greensboro Light the Way campaign in honor of her mother, Ann Satterwhite Tunstall. This scholarship will help adult learners surmount the many obstacles in a busy, demanding life that might otherwise put their education on hold.
