EdD candidate in Kinesiology, Mona Flynn is eager to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in yoga therapy. Her research will focus on how physical activity improves overall well-being through her work with immigrant and refugee women at her non-profit, The Yoga Connection.
The UNCG Green Fund finances projects seeking to improve sustainability on campus and in the Greensboro community. Two current projects include a bluebird nest habitat study and bird-window collision research, both of which are being conducted by current PhD candidates.

Dr. Amber Vermeesch joined the UNC Greensboro School of Nursing this fall as an associate professor and chair of the Department of Family and Community Nursing. Amber’s research focuses on nature-based interventions, improving individuals’ mental and physical health by spending time outdoors.
