UNCG’s Office of Intercultural Engagement (OIE) is looking to create our first official PRIDE Month planning committee for the Spring 2024 semester. PRIDE Month is held during April here on campus. With regular events in mind, UNCG is also looking to include more on this year’s calendar, with OIE overseeing these efforts.

Those interested in sitting on the committee can fill out the interest form by Wednesday, November 8. The first meeting will be scheduled based on the availability of committee members, likely toward the end of the semester or during the winter break, to introduce members, establish goals, and begin preparations.

Members may also bring another representative from their department or organization to attend the meetings they cannot make. The committee will meet biweekly beginning the week of January 8, eventually moving in weekly meetings towards the end of March and into April. More information is included in the interest form.

OIE’s role will be to facilitate the participation and inclusion of offices, departments, or individuals who are interested in volunteering, hosting events, or contributing funds. This committee is part of the effort to ensure effective collaboration and inclusion to provide LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff an affirming, educational and exciting space via events, workshops, and other efforts.

More information is to come. Any individual, office, department, or organization interested in serving on this committee is asked to fill out the form. Questions can be sent to Hailey Paivanas at hnpaivan@uncg.edu.
