Staff Senate Service committee would like to thank everyone who supported the SOP Food drive during October. Through the generosity of UNCG staff and community members, the Service committee was able to collect two overflowing carts of food for Spartan Open Pantry during the month of October.
SOP supports our students and staff in need of assistance through the distribution of food and toiletries. They collect donations year-round, so just because this month’s drive is over doesn’t mean you can’t donate! SOP is now located in the Smith Campus Ministries Center (beside the Walker Avenue parking deck) and have a drop-off location by their front desk.
This years’ Spartan Open Pantry food drive was led by Alice Culclasure who is a staff Senator on the Service Committee. The Service committee also maintains year-round donations boxes as part of a service project. Year-round donation boxes are located at the following buildings:
- Jackson Library, 1st floor near Circulation
- Campus Supply Warehouse
- Nursing Instructional Building, 2nd floor near main stairwell
- Bryan School of Business & Economics, 4th floor near Room 401
- MHRA Building, 1st floor Office of Research & Engagement, Room 1601
- Music Building, 2nd floor within Harold Schiffman Music Library
