UNCG has always been a cradle of poetry, with one of the oldest and most prestigious MFA writing programs in the nation, renowned journal The Greensboro Review, the historic undergraduate literary journal Coraddi, and a surrounding community that is home to many poets and the site of many poetry readings, on campus and downtown. Additionally, the School of Theatre produces productions of poetic works such as Shakespeare plays every year. For National Poetry Month, we’ll post videos weekly of UNCG’s MFA poets and theater majors giving readings of original work and of poetry they love. See the trailer below.

Spartans and community members: What poetry do you love? Share a video response with us on Instagram for a chance to win a UNCG sling bag and other swag. Visit the UNCG Instagram to learn more.
