This is a two-day food workshop on September 16 and 17 will include various participatory activities aimed at enhancing students’ learning through experiential methods and cultural immersion. Participants will engage with our broader UNCG community active in promoting food security and explore cultural connections through food. There will be panel sessions where students will connect with local farmers, an internationally recognized Chef, Chef Kabui, and experts in food security on the 17th. This workshop is a collaboration between the following departments Geography Environment and Sustainability, African American and African Diaspora Studies, Social Work, Biology, and Nutrition. It was funded by the UNCG Green Fund.
