The following are some characteristics which you might have mentioned in your summary:
1. An unusual or miraculous birth. Frequently as the child of a god or goddess and a mortal. The stories of Heracles (able to kill serpents in his crib) or Perseus, born of Danae and Zeus (in a shower of gold) come to mind here.
2. The patronage of a god: Hermes, Athena the most likely. Aphrodite sometimes. Achilles, of course, has his mother Thetis.
3. The hatred or enmity of a god (Nemesis). Heracles and Hera, Odysseus and Poseidon etc.
4. An adventure (or more than one) frequently involving a journey of some kind.
5. One or more monsters to be overcome.
6. A trip to the Underworld-the ultimate monster-Death.
7. A male side-kick-Theseus and Pirithous, Heracles and Iolaus, Jason and the Argonauts etc.
8. Superior qualities: strength, intelligence, good looks.
9. Temptation from a dangerous woman.
10. Some character weakness, lust or lapse of judgment.
Compare these to the ones listed in Powell, Chapter 8, page 124 and
