GRADES: Final
grades will be determined as follows:
Quizzes |
|
Midterms |
|
Final Exam |
|
The first midterm will cover everything up
through October 1, and the second midterm will cover the material from
October 8 to October 31. The final exam
will be cumulative.
QUIZZES AND EXAMS: See
the schedule for the dates of the midterm exams and the final. During
the semester
we will have approximately 10 unannounced
quizzes covering the reading assignment for that day and the
previous day’s lecture. There will be
no make-up quizzes for any reason. IF
YOU MISS A QUIZ, YOU WILL
RECEIVE A ZERO.
If you arrive to class late and the quiz has already started, you may take
the quiz but
you must hand it in with everybody else.
If you arrive after the quiz has been handed in, you will not be allowed
to take it. I will drop your two lowest
quiz grades.
GRADING POLICIES: Please
bear in mind that your final grade is not negotiable. If I make an
error in figuring your grade on
a test or at the end of the term, I'll be
happy to correct my mistake promptly. Otherwise, your average on
the quizzes and
tests as determined by the table above will
be your final grade in the course. Please do not ask me to change
a grade just
because you're not happy with it.
ATTENDANCE: Poor
attendance may result in your being dropped from the class. All reading
assignments
should be completed by the class period for
which they are due.
EXTRA CREDIT: There will be no extra credit in this class.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Please make sure you have read and understood the Academic Integrity Policy
(it can be found at http://www.uncg.edu/saf/studiscp/Honor.html).
I will ask you to sign the Academic Integrity Pledge on all graded work.
