January 3, Wednesday Undergraduate academic appeals deadline
January 3–6, Wednesday–Saturday Orientation, Advising, Registration for all students based on student population and classification
January 8, Monday Classes Begin 8:00 a.m.
January 8–12, Monday–Friday Late Registration and Schedule Adjustment
January 12, Friday Financial Aid satisfactory academic progress appeals deadline
January 12, Friday Deadline for undergraduates to apply to graduate in May 2001
January 12, Friday Last day to change courses or course sections without special permission
January 15, Monday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday. Classes dismissed; offices closed.
January 16, Tuesday Last day to drop a course for tuition and fees refund
January 16, Tuesday Deadline for graduate students to apply to graduate in May 2001
February 1–28 Undergraduate Students planning to either declare or change major should do so at this time
February 12, Monday Deadline for undergraduates to apply to student teach during 2001–2002
February 16, Friday Six weeks progress reports due in University Registrar's Office
March 1, Thursday Financial Aid priority filing date for 2001–2002 academic year
March 3, Saturday Instruction ends for Spring Break 1:00 p.m.
March 12, Monday Classes Resume after Spring Break 8:00 a.m.
March 14, Wednesday Last day to drop course without academic penalty
March 21, Wednesday Final date for May doctoral candidates oral examinations
March 27–April 12, Tuesday–Thursday Summer and/or Fall advising for continuing students, by appointment
March 31–April 12, Saturday–Thursday Summer and/or Fall 2001 Registration for continuing students
April 4, Wednesday Deadline for filing one signed copy of dissertation, Graduate School
April 13, Friday Spring Holiday. Classes dismissed; offices closed
April 17, Tuesday Deadline for filing one copy of thesis, Graduate School
May 1, Tuesday University follows Friday Schedule; Last Day of Classes
May 2, Wednesday Final date for complete clearance of May candidates for graduate degrees
May 2, Wednesday Reading Day
May 3–5, 7–9,Thursday–Saturday, Monday-Wednesday Final Examinations
May 13, Sunday May Commencement, Greensboro Coliseum
