Doctor of Education Degree Online (Ed.D.)
The Ed.D. in Kinesiology Online at UNCG is an interdisciplinary, professional degree program specifically designed for practicing professionals who have a minimum of three years of professional experience in Kinesiology or related fields, and desire a doctorate that is focused on professional scholarship and practice in leadership, advocacy, and teaching. Our aim is to bring together a community of scholars to develop action-oriented leaders.

Course Work and Program Structure
The four-year online degree program is cohort-based and requires students to complete of 60 credit hours including the dissertation. Students will address current professional practice issues in the field from an applied, interdisciplinary perspective. Professional Learning Communities will support student academic and professional growth throughout the degree program. All coursework will be completed online.
The program is structured so that all students beginning the program in Fall will move through the program as a cohort, working in learning communities, taking 2 courses (6 credits) each semester and summer over 3 years and completing the dissertation in year 4. Coursework is interdisciplinary and focuses on inquiry, problem solving, teaching and learning, application of research, and leadership in kinesiology programs.
Students will be required to make three required campus visits (YR 1 Orientation, YR 3 Comprehensive Exam & Dissertation Proposal, YR 4 Dissertation Defense).
